Westfield, N.Y., sits along the western shores of Lake Erie in Chautauqua County and along the Seaway Trail. It is a warm, rural community and a wonderful place to live and do business.

The Village and beyond
C.E. Welch sits at the core of the French Portage Road Historic District, which the National Park Service describes as a near-intact nineteenth- and early twentieth-century village core.
Moore Park is across Portage Road, and the Westfield library, museum, YWCA, police station, post office, grocery store, pharmacy, banks, and more than a dozen coffee shops, restaurants, and bars are all within a ten-minute walk of its entrance.

Shopping
Grocery shopping is close by, with seasonal farmers' and artisans' markets in Moore Park across the street, Tops Market and CVS a short walk down Main Street, and a second grocery store within a 15-minute drive. Downtown's Main Street offers boutique and specialty shops.
Coffee Shops, Restaurants, and Bars
More than a dozen places to eat and drink are within walking distance. Enjoy Full Strength Coffee for breakfast or a little remote work session. The Parkview Cafe, Brazill's on Main, Larry's Cantina, Main Diner, Annex 25, and Calarco's all serve sit-down meals. Grace and Abe's Brew Pub and the Tap Room are great for an evening drink. And last but far from least, the region's very best pies are just across the street at Portage Pie, and nearly twenty more restaurants are within a 20-minute drive.
Wineries
Westfield is located in the middle of the Chautauqua-Erie Grape Belt, a sixty-mile stretch of Lake Erie shoreline with more than 30,000 acres of vineyards. It is the largest grape-growing region in the eastern United States, and its grapes are what brought Welch's to Westfield in the first place. But it grows more grape varietals than Concord. Johnson Estate Winery, New York's oldest estate winery, is a few minutes' drive west on Route 20 and pours wine and spirits year-round in a century-old farm building. The Grape Discovery Center on West Main Street has free exhibits on the region's grape history, along with wine tastings and grape juice samples. Dozens more wineries line the Lake Erie Wine Country trail, which runs along the lakeshore from Silver Creek into Pennsylvania. Every September, the Westfield Grape and Wine Festival fills downtown with grape stomping, grape pie contests, live music and local wines.
Recreation
Moore Park is across the street, and the Welch Trail starts a block away, just off North Portage Street. The YWCA, a three-minute walk down South Portage Street, has a 24-hour fitness center and a basketball gym for members. Welch Field, a twelve-minute walk on Elm Street, has two baseball diamonds, a public pool, a skate park, and a playground. The tennis courts and track at Westfield Academy and Central School, and the baseball, basketball, and soccer facilities at North Lakes Sports Center are all within a twenty-minute walk. Pinehurst Golf Club, a public nine-hole course on East Main Road, is a five-minute drive. Farther afield, Dan Reed Pier Park at Barcelona Harbor features a beach and lighthouse. 15 area biking and hiking trails cover 121 miles and offer all kinds of terrain, and Chautauqua Creek and Lake Erie are both close by for fishing.
The Welch Trail
The Welch Trail follows the old Jamestown, Westfield and Northwestern trolley line for 1.25 miles along Chautauqua Creek. Its trailhead and parking lot sit just off North Portage Street, a two-minute walk from C.E. Welch, and the Lincoln-Bedell Steps lead from the lot up to Main Street. The crushed-stone path is open for walking, running, cycling, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Along the way are three picnic areas with grills, the first public access to Chautauqua Creek in downtown Westfield, and an overlook facing the historic rail trestle. The Westfield Little League field sits right beside the trail, with restrooms and concessions. The trail is one piece of the planned route from Barcelona Harbor to the Chautauqua Institution.
Culture
The Patterson Library, the McClurg Museum, and the Lakeshore Center for the Arts are within walking distance of 2 Portage, as is the Welch Factory Building No. 1 on North Portage Street, where Welch’s built its factory after arriving in Westfield in 1897. The Chautauqua Institution's summer season of lectures, concerts, operas, and more is just 15 minutes away. Nearby, Jamestown and Erie offer plenty to see and do.
Proximity
Main Street is US Route 20 and Portage Road is Route 394, so two regional highways meet at the building's corner, and Interstate 90 is a few minutes north at Exit 60. Jamestown and Erie are 35 to 45 minutes from your front door. Buffalo is a one-hour drive.

Tenants have three nearby airports to choose from: Jamestown, Erie, and Buffalo.
